Four reservoirs in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro are empty.
These are the Chatty 0%, Bloemendal 0%, End Street 0% and Voortrekker 0%.
Several are below 20%, including Theescombe (3%), Gelvandale (7%), Driftsands (11%), Glendenning (11%), Greenbushes (15%), KwaNobuhle Reservoir 4 (16%), Chelsea 16% and the Airport at just (21%).
Moreover, Municipal maintenance teams are repairing the 500mm Motherwell–Chelsea bulk water main, which failed on Thursday.
The Municipality said areas experiencing low pressure or no water, include Baywest, Rowallan Park, Sherwood, parts of Lorraine, Hunters Retreat, Kabega Park, Morningside, Malabar, Barcelona, Parsonsvlei, Parsons Ridge and parts of Schauderville.
There are currently 15 municipal water tankers across affected communities.
