Water levels continue to dwindle at Klipriver, part of Alfred Duma Municipality.
As a result, the uThukela Municipality, has requested residents to reduce their water consumption levels and also report water leaks/burst pipes to the UThukela Call Centre.
Ntandoyenkosi Shabalala, Mayor of the uThukela Municipality, said there are no rains.
As a result, water received at the catchment, has lessened.
“We abstract 40% of our daily production demand from the Klipriver. Spioenkop supplies us with 60% of our daily production needs” said Shabalala.
