Water levels continue to dwindle at Klipriver, part of Alfred Duma Municipality.

As a result, the uThukela Municipality, has requested residents to reduce their water consumption levels and also report water leaks/burst pipes to the UThukela Call Centre.

Ntandoyenkosi Shabalala, Mayor of the uThukela Municipality, said there are no rains.

As a result, water received at the catchment, has lessened.

“We abstract 40% of our daily production demand from the Klipriver.  Spioenkop supplies us with 60% of our daily production needs” said Shabalala.
