A cold front and low pressure system, is now headed over the east coast of Australia, after sweeping through the southern parts of that country, this past weekend.
The system began in Western Australia, before moving south-west, on Saturday.
The cold front continued eastwards over South Australia, Victoria, northern Tasmania, New South Wales and southern Queensland on Saturday and Sunday.
The Bureau of Meteorology in Australia, recorded exorbitant amounts of rainfall, in just 48-hours.
About 168mm was recorded at Mount Buffalo Chalet, 137mm at Strathbogie North, 106mm at Lenswood, 100mm at Harrietville, 99mm at The Plateau, east of Leigh Creek, 84mm at Thredbo, 81mm at Batlow, 77mm at Mount Lofty, 74mm at Wangaratta,65mm at Leigh Creek, 65mm at St Arnaud, 44mm at Adelaide West Terrace and 33mm at Esperance.
The Bureau also said damaging wind gusts of more than 90km/h, were also recorded at Victoria and New South Wales.
Conditions are expected to ease on Tuesday morning.
