An earthquake struck south of Brandvlei, on Thursday midday, at around 13:30.

The Council for Geoscience (CGS) confirmed the quake had a magnitude of 3,2.

Its epicentre was about 50 kilometres south of Brandvlei and another 60 kilometres from Williston.

Mahlatse Monamela, Communications and Stakeholder Manager at the CGS, said in a statement, it was the National Seismograph Network (SANSN) who monitored the wave activity for CGS.

She further encouraged members of the public to record their experiences and fill in an online questionnaire, found on the CGS website.
