A vessel called the “Wild Cat” was eventually removed from Santos Beach in Mossel Bay, where it was first stranded.
It broke from its moorings during the night, about three weeks ago.
The owner who remains anonymous, reportedly raised questions regarding its handling and initial movement of the vessel.
The Municipality said local authorities and cleanup teams are working to address environmental and safety concerns from remaining debris.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) crew responded to the incident.
