Residents from seven areas in the Buffalo City Municipality, received building materials, from the City, on Monday.
This is after their homes were damaged, by several storms recently.
Nobuntu Vellem, from Ward 17, including Mdantsane, said the assistance with material, is welcomed.
Another resident, 74-year-old Nomathamsanqa Jerry, from the Ramaphosa Squatter Camp in NU 9, also received building material after her home was repeatedly affected by heavy rainfall.
“For me to receive these, I thank God because I have been asking for help. My life will change thanks to the department,” said Jerry.
Other beneficiaries of the initiative have come from communities in Mdantsane, including Ekuphumleni, Sonwabiso and Zola Park.
