A surface trough system is developing over western Namibia.

Meteorologists at the Severe Weather and Information System (SWAICSA) shared recent satellite imagery showing the system could reach Namibia on Wednesday.

It is expected to rain on the western and central parts of Namibia.

At this stage, no rainfall from this system is expected to reach South Africa on Wednesday.

But there is a possibility of a strong Cut-Off Low west of Namibia from Sunday, 13 September 2026, which could affect South Africa from Sunday into next week.
