City Power has restored power supply to affected large parts of Johannesburg, including the Lenasia, Hursthill and Reuven Service Delivery Centres (SDCs), since last night.
The incident began at about 18:14, when a flash on one of the connecting points to Fordsburg Intake substation burned off, causing the Orlando SWS to trip.
Rand Water’s Eikenhof supply was also prioritised as part of the restoration process.
Isaac Mangena, Spokesperson at City Power, said operators confirmed this morning that the Eikenhof Substation and Rand Water’s supply are fully energised and operational.
City Power also said it continues to attend to isolated power-related faults, particularly at the Lenasia SDC, Ennerdale and Eldorado Park networks.
