Some 340,000 passengers had their travel disrupted, after a volcano erupted at Anak Krakatau.
More than 2,000 flights had to be suspended.
The volcano, is some 150 kilometres from Jakarta.
It spewed fountains of lava and ash into the air, over Sumatra and western Java.
No casualties were reported from the September 2026.
Indonesian authorities warned residents and travellers of recent volcanic activity, including the eruption of Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait.
Residents were urged to stay far from ash-affected regions and to stay indoors.
Moreover, they were advised to wear face masks, and avoid unnecessary travel because Indonesia’s Geological Agency warned more eruptions are possible.
