The Letaba Fire Protection Association (FPA) said it is monitoring a fire reported at Modjadji Fire Tower, just after 15:40 on Saturday afternoon.
The FPA also said smoke is rising up near the Triangle area.
Ernest Mukhawane of the FPA reportedly went to check Diggersrest en-route.
He reported that although the fire is near an indigenous bush, it is currently not threatening a nearby plantation.
