Gates open on the 01st of October at Little Falls Pleasure Resort, West of Johannesburg.
The lush green resort has waterfalls, and opportunities for birdwatching and hiking.
But it was closed briefly following concerns of safety and security from the community nearby, as well as lack of maintenance.
Speaking on behalf of City Parks and Zoo, Lucky Sindane, said in addition to the beauty of the reserve, it is one of a few where alcohol is allowed in the premises.
“Alcohol in cans is permitted and not in bottles. Life guards will also be on site, to ensure swimmer safety” he said.
He also said there is a waterfall people can visit but can only swim at designated swimming areas.
