Nepal’s Meteorological Department reminded people to take precaution, as hazardous conditions continue.
This is after a low-pressure system was recorded in that country, over the Bay of Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
About twenty seven (27) people were killed in Nepal by floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall from a low-pressure weather system, since last Thursday.
About eight (8) people were injured, while four (4) remain missing.
Over 1,000 families were affected.
Nepal’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority confirmed there were more than 200 disaster incidents – including floods, landslides, avalanches, windstorms and thunderstorms, across various districts.
The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) said in an update on Tuesday, it continues to work with Members and partners globally to ensure that emerging risks are detected earlier and translated into warnings that reach people and communities that need it the most.
