President John Dramani, of Ghana, visited seven communities affected by floods in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region.

Rainfall in neighbouring Togo, led to the overflow of the Dayi River to low-lying areas, in the Hohoe Zongo and other riverside communities.

Close to 5,336 people were displaced by severe floods, late in September floods.

According to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and local officials, some 412 houses were damaged across various communities.

Mahama donated relief items displaced communities, including bags of rice, bags of maize, mattresses, mats, boxes of tinned fish, cooking oil, washing powder, roofing sheets, sanitary pads, tissue paper, mosquito coil, plastic buckets, plastic basins, and baby diapers.
