Work is underway to restore the Waltloo substation, which caught fire last week.
The City of Tshwane said on Saturday that the work at the station is 75% complete.
The City said teams would focus on completing installation and then begin testing and commissioning the stage.
The City also said it is also simultaneously working with law enforcement agencies to respond to the theft and vandalism of electricity infrastructure downstream.
Similarly, City Power reported the restoration of six additional supply lines from the Central Substation on Saturday evening.
The substation caught fire for the third time this year, last weekend.
Electricity supplying some areas was restored, including End Street, Wemmer West, Wemmer East, Selby Central and Anderson Street West.
But technical glitches at the Karzene Substation, on Sunday morning, which is interconnected with Central Substation, interrupted supply to the entire Central Substation, undoing small wins.
City Power’s Isaac Mangena, said the transmission team is on site resolving the matter and conducting tests to enable supply to be restored to more customers.
The local power utility’s target is Monday, the 05th of October.
