Floods victims housed at the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality, since Sunday, received a pleasant surprise on Monday.
Zolile Williams, MEC of Cooperative Governance in the Eastern Cape, visited the communities with an entourage including Nyaniso Nelani, the Mayor of the O.R. Tambo District Municipality and Nontyantyambo Gcingca, the Mayoral Committee Member (MMC) for Community Services.
They brought along the Eastern Cape Disaster Management Centre, who had necessary goodies for 45 affected people.
The goodies are food parcels, infant essentials, sanitary towels, mattresses, blankets, and emergency portable lights to assist affected households.
The affected people are among those whose homes were destroyed by a storm on Friday evening, 13th February 2026.
Others affected by the storm, are sheltered by neighbours, while others, are at the Community Hall.
