A series of cold fronts are expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape spreading to the Eastern Cape. According to Fox Weather, daytime temperatures are expected to drop significantly until Wednesday.

General windy conditions are expected to accompany the cold and wet weather.

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has called on communities to take extra precaution during ongoing heavy rains.

“People are advised to take precaution when crossing low-lying bridges. They are also advised not to engage in recreational activities near dams, streams, rivers, or other water systems.” A statement from the Department also asked people to avoid parking under trees as the tree branches may fall and damage cars.
