Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage caused by heavy downpours,  on Monday, in the Western parts of Iran, after several dry months.

Disaster Relief teams from the Iranian Red Crescent attended to flooded homes and roads, on Tuesday, in Abdanan and Dehloran.

Six weather warnings were issued  in 18 of the country’s 31 provinces, by the country’s meteorological agency.

The floods hit just as the agency had begun an exercise known as “cloud-seeding” over the weekend.

It is an expensive dispersing of chemicals into clouds, to stimulate rainfall.

Other countries hit by floods this week, are Italy’s Versa, where a riverbank burst, similar to Shrewsbury, in England, where the River Severn, overflowed.
