The City of Tshwane said the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant has started running again, subsequent to the subsiding of the rainfall, which had made it difficult to process raw water.

The plant was temporarily off-line for about a week.

The City also said since the network has been empty for sometime, it will take time for water to build up.
Therefore, water tankers remain on site until the system fully recovers.

Areas affected are those supplied by the Zithobeni Reservoirs, including the town of Bronkhorstpruit, Enkandu stria, Ekangala, Rethabiseng, Riamarpark, Zithobile and Thembisile Hani Municipality.
