Cuba had two powerful earthquakes, one 6.8 earthquake hit Southern Cuba on Sunday, the 10th November 2024.
A second one struck an hour later, was measured at 5.9 on the Richter scale.
The US Embassy in Havana, said the epicenter of the quake was about 24 miles south of Bartolome Maso, which is part of Cuba’s Granma province.
There are no tsunami warnings, but there are reports of aftershocks, minor impacts on buildings, and disrupted communications.
There are also no initial reports of injuries or deaths.
Donna Gibson of the Worldwide Earthquake Watch, said this is 2 of about 30 earthquakes reported on Monday, the 11 November 2024.
Others were in Indonesia, Tonga, Nicaragua, Eastern Xizang, Vanuatu, Samoa Islands, Molucca Sea, Banda Sea, N. Mariana Islands, Afghanistan, Chile, Japan, Fiji, Kuril Islands, Guatemala, Peru, Panama-Costa Rica, Phillipines and Mexico.
