An extreme fire in outer Escourt, started over the weekend, disrupting traffic on the N3.
The Umtshezi Fire Protection Association said in an update on Tuesday evening, the runaway fire burnt Kikuyu grass, engulfing the area in thick smoke.
But the Working on Fire teams and resources from the Al-Imdaad Foundation, fought the fire line tirelessly, until it was put out yesterday.
