Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife donated 20 black rhinos to Deception Valley Private Reserve in Botswana.
Sihle Mkhize, Ezemvelo Chief Executive Officer, said the donation is part of the Black Rhino Range Expansion Project (BRREP), a partnership between Ezemvelo and WWF.
Mkhize said this is the 18th new black rhino population established under BRREP since the project began in 2003.
“We’re proud to be driving this milestone project, which helps ensure the survival of the critically endangered black rhino, working with partners such as WWF” said Mkhize.
Ezemvelo said the donation is part of ongoing efforts to secure the future of this critically endangered species by giving them new habitats.
