A fire in de Doorns, near Cape Town, ran parallel the N1 on Monday evening, after 6pm.
Officials kept the road open and cautioned motorists of firefighting vehicles on the road.
The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services said they responded to the fire, by allocating choppers and ground teams.
By 7pm, the Municipality reported the fire was contained, with no casualties.
