A cold front is heading to the Free State, west of the North West and the Northern Cape (Eastern and Southern parts) on Thursday, the 08th August 2024.
As a result, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned residents of the 3 Provinces, against damaging winds.
Gusts of between 35 and 65 kilometers an hour (km/h), are expected tomorrow.
SAWS said there is a risk of runaway fires, localised damage to settlements, and possible reduced visibility, due to dust storms and smoke.
Dr Angelo Hoorn of the Severe Weather Service and Information Platform (Swaicsa), said weather maps are also showing 2 cold fronts are approaching SA from the west.
These 2 systems are expected to merge into another cold front, expected to land in the Western Cape late on Thursday.
