Multiple homes are flooded in Hawston, near Hermanus.
Disaster Management Teams are onsite, assisting affected households.
Traffic officers and the police are also assisting at the Hawston traffic lights, and to fill 200 sandbags ready for distribution.
Dean O’Neill, Municipal Manager at the Overstrand Municipality, said teams are working at ensuring that the stormwater network is clean in known problem areas.
“We understand that people are panicking, but we are working according to a plan and will attend to everyone. Residents are urged to stay calm while emergency teams continue their work” said O’Neill.
