Field Rangers at the Kruger National Park, encountered four suspected rhino poachers, during an observation patrol, on Sunday evening, close to midnight.
The rangers approached the poachers.
This led to a shootout with the suspects.
As a result, one suspect (32 year old) was wounded and arrested at the scene.
Police said they confiscated one rifle from the suspect and another, believed to have been abandoned by one of the fleeing suspects.
The other three suspects escaped.
