There are about 14 drowning incidents and 6 people injured, as a result of floods in Limpopo.

Over 352 houses, 108 schools, 412 roads, 7 clinics, and 19 bridges were damaged.

The Witport hospital is now open, after patients had to be evacuated, subsequent to the flooding of the Palala Dam, near the hospital.

The Grobler’s Bridge Border Post remains temporarily closed due to floods from heavy rainfall.

The Department of Transport in the area, advised motorists, including cargo movements, travellers, and truck operators, to use alternative Ports of Entry.

Dr Phophi Ramathuba, Premier of Limpopo, said “whilst waiting for the National Disaster Management Centre to respond to our request, the Provincial Treasury will analyze departmental expenditure reports to identify potential funding for urgent response and recovery projects.”
