Loadshedding is back for this weekend.
Stage 3 began on Friday until this afternoon. Stage 4 kicks in thereafter, until Sunday.

In a statement, Eskom said the shutdown of 6 generation units, plus 3 more units under maintenance (amounting to 7, 828 Megawatts) is the reason for the implementation of loadshedding stages 3 and 4.

“Unplanned outages are at 15, 561MW, of generating capacity.”
Electricity use was expected to peak last night, to be around 25, 169MW.

Managers of the power utility said their teams are working tirelessly to ensure that 1,960MW is returned to the system by Monday evening.
