Eskom released an update today, informing residents that loadshedding remains suspended until further notice.

This is the 18th day that lights have been on around the country.

Eskom said the reason for the positive development, is due to the sustained availability of generation capacity and emergency reserves.

A total of 2, 150 Megawatts (MW) of generation capacity is planned to be restored by Monday.

Tonight’s evening peak demand is expected to reach some 25 886MW. Eskom said  unplanned outages are reduced to 12, 850MW, while planned maintenance is currently at 7 368MW.

Another update is expected to follow on Wednesday afternoon, should a significant change occur.
