Madagascar has a growing portfolio of over USD 100 million from the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
This emerged from this week’s visit led by Mafalda Duarte, GCF’s Executive Director.
The delegation met with Andry Rajoelina, the President and Max Andonirina Fontaine,
Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, to discuss how to strengthen collaboration and speed up access to climate finance.
The conversation centred around climate finance and leadership for sustainable growth across Africa, how to unlock sustainable finance for South Africa’s just transition, reflecting on COP29, Article 6, and emerging green finance opportunities.
Panel 5 highlighted the Africa Business Leaders Coalition (ABLC), with signatories reaffirming their commitment to climate action and gender equality.
