Areas affected by maintenance of the Rand Water F12/F39 bulk pipeline are Soweto, the Commando system, Randburg/ Roodepoort and Deep South.
On Monday afternoon, Sipho Mosai, Group Chief Executive of Rand Water, reassured the public that technical teams and contractors are on site and working tirelessly to repair the F39 pipe burst.
“We remain committed to restoring normal supply and sincerely apologise to our valued customers for the inconvenience caused” he said on site.
Johannesburg Water said on Tuesday, due to the complexity of the system, further isolation was required to carry out repair work.
The time of full restoration of water is not yet known.
