The Lesotho Highlands Development Agency (LHDA) handed over 90 000 Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, 427 hiking boots for Village Health Workers (VHWs) to the Ministry of Health.
It also handed over laptops and weighing scales to the Ministry of Education and Training, to be used in eleven high schools participating in the school health programme—one of the key components of the public health plan.
This material covers a range of health topics and was designed through a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health’s Education Department, technical teams and health partners including Lesotho Planned Parenthood Association, Baylor and SolidarMed.
The LHDA said this handover indicates a continued commitment to delivering on the LHWP II Public Health Action Plan (PHAP), a comprehensive initiative designed to address health challenges in the communities affected by the project.
