Mass clean up of Tshwane began in Mooiplaats on Friday, the 23rd August 2024.

The City of Tshwane, has mobilized residents to take part in a cleaning campaign called “Rekaofela.”

In a statement, the City details objectives of the campaign, as a step towards achieving a cleaner and greener City, through proper waste management services and eradicating illegal dumping.
The City also aims to use 240l waste bins, to lessen waste and eradicate illegal dumping.

Ziyanda Zwane, MMC for the Environment and Agriculture Management, said “the reality is that the fight against illegal dumping, cannot be won single-handedly by the City. A cleaner City can only be achieved by working together with residents, business and civic organizations.”

The campaign heads to Laudium (Itereleng Sports Grounds) next Friday, the 30th August, from 8am.
