Parts of Australia’s eastern, southern and western parts received more than 100 mm of rainfall in just 24 hours.
The Bureau of Meteorology, said in an update, there was 108mm of rainfall at the Yarrandi Bridge (Dart Brook), 103mm at Scone, 54mm at Comboyne and 40mm at Tia.
More rains could follow, with a tropical Low system detected, east of the Northern Territory and is expected to linger into next week.
It is bringing along tropical moisture into central Australia, resulting in widespread heavy rainfall and thunderstorms through the territory, western Queensland, northern South Australia and north-west New South Wales from Sunday.
Similarly, rain and thunderstorms are expected over southern Australia, inland Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and parts of New South Wales.
