The Gauteng Provincial Joint Operating Committee (JOC) has urged motorists to avoid the Glen Austin, Midrand area.
This is to make way for safety and emergency crews, following a plane crash in the area, on Wednesday morning.
Motorists are also urged to be on the lookout of helicopters landing and taking off from the scene and to expect road closures.
Emergency services and law enforcement agencies are on the scene.
