Four licenses to operate generation facilities for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects were approved by the National Energy Regulator (NERSA).
The projects were awarded under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) Bid Window 7.3.
The approved bidders are Sculptor Energy (Pty) Ltd, Springhaas Solar Facility 1 (Pty) Ltd, Springhaas Solar Facility 6 (Pty) Ltd and Corona Energy (Pty) Ltd.
Charles Hlebela, Spokesperson of NERSA, said the applications were assessed against technical, financial, economic, regulatory and legal requirements and were found to be compliant.
