Plans for the Northern Cape’s Boegoebaai Port Development are gaining traction.
The R13.8-billion project, is led by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), Transnet, Sasol, Transnet, and Infrastructure South Africa.
It aims to bolster mineral exports and position the Northern Cape as a potential green hydrogen hub.
Construction includes a deep-water port, dry bulk and break bulk berths, and a 550 km rail connection.
Once completed, the port will deliver 2,5 million of green hydrogen every year.
Jobs will also be to create thousands of jobs, during its construction phase.
