She said the Carbons tank farm project has strong links with the automotive sector. It is the development of 18,000 cubic meters tanks for the storage of carbon black feedstock oil, which is used in the manufacturing of tyres.
A 5,4 kilometer pipeline to transport the oil from Coega Harbour to a new facility was also recently completed.

The Biofibre Hub developed in partnership with the CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research), develops plant-based fibers, used as bast fibres, help and flex.  Final products are parcel trays, door lining inside the car, and panels.
This project is expected to launch a component to focus on leaf fibre, to be produced from pineapples from the Karoo. Once completed, plant leather seats, will be used for upmarket cars.
