Taxi drivers from Orkney and Klerksdorp, in the North West, have blocked roads including the N12 Stilfontein.
This has led to several disruptions, meaning motorists cannot use the R30 Ventersdorp and N12 bridge at Wolmaransstad.
This has also left commuters in Ikageng and Orkney in the lurch.
Residents took to social media to warn each other because no prior communication was issued about the protest.
Darlington Thapeli, a resident of Orkney, wrote “guys, no transport will be moving from Kanana to Klerksdorp.”
