About R120 329 billion in Investment was pledged at the 2024 Limpopo Investment Conference.
The Two day conference was held on the 07th – 08th November 2024, at the Ranch Hotel, in Limpopo.
Dr Phophi Ramathuba, Premier of Limpopo, said “we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the business sector and industry leaders who have partnered with us to uplift our province.”
She said the pledges are important to transform Limpopo’s economic landscape.
Over the past 5 years, Limpopo’s fresh produce was exported to the European Union (36,16%), the Middle East (19,97%), the United Kingdom (13,05%), Asia (5,83%), North America (5,83%), Africa (5,01%), Russia (7,04%), Indian Ocean Islands (0,96%), South America (0,05%) and Oceania (0,01%).
It emerged at the Conference that downstream applications of green hydrogen in Limpopo, are energy storage for power generation, mobility, decarbonisation of heavy industries such as steel and the manufacturing of industrial chemicals and feedstocks for use as fuel.
The proposed Fetakgomo-Tubatse Special Economic Zone is expected to attract investors to Limpopo.
