The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) has signed an agreement with the Angolan Space Program Management Office (GGPEN) in Tshwane, this week.
Through this agreement, South Africa will establish joint projects to optimise satellite resources for telecommunications and remote sensing, to support socioeconomic development, collaborative development of Earth Observation products and services.
The products will also monitor sustainable development indicators to support data-driven decision making.
Humbulani Mudau, SANSA CEO said at the signing ceremony “the implementation of this MOU contributes towards the objectives of SANSA’s African Space Strategy to collaborate across the borders within Africa to progress the regions expertise and output in space to upgrade the lives of all Africans and provide a hopeful future for the large youth population.”
