Johannesburg Water (JW) confirmed a major leak in the Zondi reservoir and tower on Thursday.
As a result, Zondi and neighbouring areas had no water, including Naledi, Dobsonville, Zola and surrounding areas.
Similarly, a burst pipe along the R114 road in Diepsloot, had a major burst pipe, affecting Lanseria Airport, Lion Pride, Thabo Mbeki informal settlement, Malatji informal settlement and Lanseria Business Park.
Another burst pipe along Club Street in Linksfield, affected Orange Grove, parts of Sandringham, Sydenham, Athol, Norwood, Highlands North and Fairmont.
Another in Yeoville, led to no water in the area and surrounds, including at the Reservoir, pump station, Forest hill tower, Forest Hill direct feeds as well as the Hector Norris pump station, the Berea reservoir and Parktown 2.
Work to fix a burst pipe identified at the corner of Alphen Close and Wroxham Road in Paulshof, is expected to begin on Friday.
Water users in Paulshof and Lonehill are expected to experience low water pressure.
JW also said it flushed out airlocks in Bromhof, affecting water supply in several streets- Heuwel Place, Kelly Avenue, Dwars, Sandpiper, Tin, Suikerbekkie, Xanadu, Buiten Avenue, Nagtegaal, Bromvoel Crescent and Witogie.
Some systems are critically low including Brixton 1 Tower, Lawley Reservoir, Ennerdale, Orange Farm, Crosby, Brixton and Hursthill 1 and 2.
JW also said it assessed a section of a pipe in Northriding.
As a result, Bellairs Drive had no water.
