There will be no water in one of Soweto’s oldest townships- Meadowlands, from Saturday, the 10th May at 20:00 until Sunday, the 11th May at 20:00.

Johannesburg Water (JW) said this is due to its throttling programme aimed at reducing water outflow, as an urgent response to rising water consumption.

JW said for 24 hours, both the inlet and outlet of reservoirs supplying Meadowlands, will be shut.

Other areas affected by overnight throttling, are those supplied by the Orange Farm  High Level Reservoirs, Lawley, Lenasia, President Park outlet, Diepsloot, Illovo, Grand Central 600 Dia to Glen Austin.
