Tributes continue to pour in for the late Reverend Jesse Jackson, who died on Tuesday.

The latest message mourning the Reverend, came from the Chairperson of the African Union’s Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.

Youssouf described him as “a towering figure whose life’s work resonated profoundly with Africa’s historic and ongoing struggles for justice, dignity, equality and liberation.”

Jackson has a long history of advocacy for civil rights, economic justice, and political inclusion.

“Rev. Jackson stood at the forefront of the struggle against systemic racism and injustice. His activism echoed the spirit of Africa’s anti-colonial and anti-apartheid movements and reinforced the global fight against racial oppression in all its manifestations” said Youssouf.

Rev. Jesse Jackson, died at the age of 84.
