The date of restoration of electricity to at least four areas in Pretoria East, is not yet known.
This is after the Waltloo substation caught fire on the September 29, 2026, leading to an outage across parts of Pretoria East, Meyerspark, Silverton, and Murrayfield.
The Tshwane Municipality has been providing daily feedback of work.
Thus far, teams are attending to affected areas such as close to the SPCA and Waltloo Test Ground.
The team is also busy with digging and testing at Erasmus/Van Wyk – Kegel street.
Similar activity is underway at the Murrayfield T4 sub yard/Nicolette/Astrid.
