The Department of Water Affairs and Sanitation has relaxed water restrictions for Kouga/ Loerie Sub System and Greendale Sub System.
Restrictions are lifted until November 2023.
Restrictions in the Kromme Sub System, remain in place. This is the area where the Churchill and Impofu dams are situated.
The Department said in a statement, that rainfall had brought the necessary relief from a drought experienced in that Region.
The Kouga dam is at 101% full, from 14,5% in May 2023.
Churchill dam level is at 100, 93% from 24,4% in May 2023. Groendal at 101% from 17,3% and Impofu dam is at 24,37%.
The Department has urged water users to continue using sparingly, and to not exceed abstraction allocation volumes.
