A power outage hampered water supply efforts at the Wiggins Water Works.
Affected areas are Central, South Central, and Southern regions of the eThekwini Metro, as well as the Umdoni Local Municipality within the Ugu District Municipality.
uMngeni-uThukela Water Board said although electricity was restored, allowing normal pumping operations to resume, water supply to affected areas will occur gradually as reservoir levels stabilize.
Over the weekend, the Water Board announced algae at the Durban Heights Plant, stifled supply to a sizeable chunk of areas in eThekwini.
