President Cyril Ramaphosa launched the Station Five 5A Water Purification Plant at the Rand Water Zuikerbosch plant in Vereeniging, Gauteng, on Friday.
The Zuikerbosch is Africa’s largest purification plant.
The plant is expected has created about 871 jobs, since 2019.
About 2.4 million people will have drinking water, as a result of the plant, which will add about 600 million liters of purified water per day to Rand Water’s network.
