The City of Durban’s first ever cycle Sunday, kicks off on the 26 October.
Event organisers, the eThekwini Transport Authority, through GO!Durban, said the starting point of the route is the Moses Mabhida Stadium, through the M4 to Portland Drive, uMhlanga.
Other partners are the Peschl Sports, Cycle Lab, and the Pedal Power Association.
The eThekwini Municipality said the event is designed to promote cycling as an integral part of Durban’s transport system and encourage sustainable mobility.
The initiative aims to promote Non-Motorised Transport, road safety, and sustainable mobility, especially among the youth.
The City said in a statement, “Cycle Sunday is more than just a ride, it’s a movement.”
The M4 will be closed to traffic from 5am to 9am, due to the race.
