About 15 informal homes were destroyed by an aggressive fire in Springfield, eThekwini, on Wednesday.
The eThekwini Municipality said several families were displaced, as a result.
One formal home burnt to the ground, along with one motor vehicle.
The City said firefighters were alerted at 16:30 to the fire and rushed to the site, and by 5pm, the fire was brought under control.
No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
